One of our favourite locations, Lake Erskine is an alpine lake nestled amongst the Fiordland National Park. It stands majestic but humble with crystal clear waters radiating beautiful blues and greens and reflecting the snowy mountain backdrop in one direction, and an epic rocky platform looking out to the wilderness in the other direction.

The flight to Lake Erskine takes us across Lake Wakatipu and over the Great Divide and the views never get old. The lake surface is typically frozen or icy between late June – early September, depending on the weather and temperatures in the region.
